nonsense. Sorry. You never have to edit the core files.

The error comes due your category MODULES ! The only thing we did is to change the call in the mod_virtuemart_category.php. the layouts should still work. The problem is that people copied the whole module to create their own and that is creating the problem.

Man
there is written
Be aware you do not need todo this now. In case you bought a template or a module it is very likely that the 3rd party developer provides a patch for upcoming versions, so long just use the attached file, remove the suffix ".txt" and copy it to /administrator/components/com_virtuemart/models

You need only to replace one file, thats it.

I replace your file but I don't see the product in the site but only in administration panel!

The easiest way for you is maybe

Install again the core and aio over your installation, to be sure to have the correct files now. Be sure that akeeba enhanced installer and similar is disabled. Then just download the provided category model and copy it to the path /administrator/components/com_virtuemart/models. Then you maybe should installl your template again, to be sure to have the correct files.

I have no clue what you already changed there and of course the fix is meant for unmodified files.

You don't see the products? Why mess with fixing the issue with the categories module then? You possibly have not corectly assigned the Category Template inVM Configuration/Templates or have an old menu link to categories? See http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=120433.0 for that.
