Title: Can a user with "Manager" role see VirtueMart?
Post by: sim085 on August 01, 2013, 16:53:03 PM
Hello,

Can a user with the role "Manager" see VirtueMart and manage products? I have created a user and gave the role of a Manager to this user. When I login to the backend with this user I do not have a menu option "VirtueMart". Is there a way how I can change the permission rules of VirtueMart so that a Manager can see this?

atm no

with vm2.2 VirtueMart will become the ACL from Joomla and then you can manage access for different usergroups

Hello, thank you for your answer. From where can I find when VM2.2 is scheduled to be released?

on the left site of your vm configuration is a info box if you have the latest vm version

and here is the roadmap

Just another question, until v2.2 comes out, is there a way to hack the backend so that VirtueMart would show when a manager is logged in?
Such as a fixed link? Or VirtueMart would realize that not an admin is trying to access and will give an error?

This is very complex.

Maybe you can setup a development enviroment and so you have access to the latest version. But this is in fact for testing and development. But if you want you can use this version for your site. BUT WITHOUT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY!

you must use the brunch: https://dev.virtuemart.net/svn/virtuemart/branches/com_virtuemart2.0.14mp
