We've been struggling with a variety of customers who click the 'Check Out Now' button sends them back to the Cart page.
We are using J2.5 with VM2.0.14. Not everyone encounters this problem, but there are many customers who do.
Solution?
Hello,
Returning back ... with the message?
No. When users click on the 'Check Out Now' button on the cart page, it just returns them to the page. No error.
I have a hard time duplicating the problem. After testing it in a series of browsers (even older versions), I don't see the problem; but that doesn't mean that it isn't happening. It's occurring to more than just a few customers using different browsers.
Hello,
Without an input to replicate the issue, as you test it yourself, there is no possibility to find it and fix it. Like browser version, plugins used for that customers checkout, etc...
Also if you have ssl enabled and your client browser does not accept it in some cases, i don't know, or customers are not accepting tos.

we need to be able to look at the url
it sounds like they are not accepting terms of service or something.
Talking to more customers, they are able to enter in their payment information, but are being looped back to the Cart page. No error messages are displaying; no other messages displaying.
The client is using Authorize.net as the payment gateway, if that helps and the site is here (http://"http://www.valleypistachio.com/).
I think this could be related to the Authorize.net plugin ... hmm ... may be alatak can check it ... please try to post also under shipment/payment plugin section...
Regards
Will do.
Just please verify that this is happen when customers uses authorize.net payment gateway ... Does it happen for customers selecting other payment method?
Authorize is the only one.
Will be nice if you could validate it with standard shipment plugin if this is happened also.
Unfortunately, I cannot considering this site is live and that shipping isn't an option.
toad
if it says "checkout now" then it's MISSING something
it will say "confirm purchase" if all is ready
I am on it right now, and the button says "confirm purchase"
Sorry I got back to you so late. My Internet went out. Can you send me a screenshot?
toad,
I am going to the same step as PRO ... are you sure that your clients are checking the tos?
Regards
i used a test number for authorize.net credit card and here is the shot ...
also if the user have not check tos when filling his data ... the tos does not shown on the cart page again ... so if you enabled from the backend each time accept tos then the next time will be not possible ... please fix it ...

Thank you for providing the screenshot! This will help. We may just have to wind up going with another extension that will allow for just one single checkout because this is rather confusing for customers.
I've reenable the TOS to "Must agree to Terms of Service on EVERY ORDER?".
We do not have the TOS display on the Cart page because users were still able to 'Check Out Now' without checking the box. It seemed pointless. So we just have it display when users update/create their account.
Some time ago I used a code (I think you provided) to have it automatically select the TOS in the 'Account Details' page, which works.
Hi toad,

I posted that code, and I do not use it anymore.
I did have some users with problems.
Now I just <input type="hidden"> for the TOS
You're right, PRO. I'm sorry I got confused.
One too many things going on with the new VM that have been quite befuddling.
I'll try the 'hidden'.
Thank you for your help, folks!
We are going to enhance the TOS problem for vm2.2
I guess it's premature of me to ask when this will come? :)
atm you have a solution :)
Think February ... now will be released 2.0.16
Okay..Thank you.
Hello toad78
we found out that the cause was that the
<jdoc:include type="message" /> was missing in the template
without that instruction, the error messages returned by authorize.net like:
QuoteThere was an error while processing your transaction: This transaction has been declined. (2)
Order not completed, data is not valid
Card Number Invalid
are not displayed
and VirtueMart takes you back to the payment page.
and then you have the impression that it is looping.
