Title: Wrong price in frontend
Post by: magoonebbia on August 14, 2012, 10:17:22 AM
Hello I've a problem with virtuemart 2.0.6 on my site (for my customer): www.maritea.it/2012_maritea (http://www.maritea.it/2012_maritea).
For example please go to: Home/Shop/Tè e infusi/Tè pu-erh/Pu-erh
Base price € 3,10 without TAX (10% IVA) the price is € 2,81819

Conf. da 50 gr no price variant (€ 3,10)
Conf. da 100 gr. + 2,70 (€) for total price € 5,80

I 've create a custom field cartvariant or string and the result is the same...

On the front end virtuemart write € 5,30 instead € 5,80...why?

So I think to add € 0,50 to go to € 5,80
So "confezione da 100 gr." +3,40 (€) in custom field
The price become € 6,40...oh no!

Another option I think is to add +2,80 (€) then I try +2,90 (€) but nothing change in frontend: the price is € 5,30 "forever"...
I attach two files for more information perhaps I ignore.
1) product detail
2) custom field (cart variant)
I hope you can help me because I'm desperate! My customer is very angry because the shop doesn't work...
Thanks in advance!

magoonebbia,

one of the biggest advances is in tax settings in 2.0.8e ? That is one of the issues that was really supported- Back up your site and then update - test and see how you go.

the front end  will not look any different - and a few new options in the back should really make your customer say that you have been working hard to fix things.

If you don''t like the tax options then reload your site.

Dear John2400,
thank you for your speedy answer!
I read that there're some other problems with last release... (invoices for example) do you think this is a bug and I will solve it surely if I update VM?
Is there anything else to do? Is it the only way?
I 'm frightened to find very little suggestions on new release there are very little posts (about VM 2 problems with solution) also for 2.0.6!!!
What do you think about?
I'm waiting for your thought.
Thanks

Try getting rid of the plus and minis symbols  (+2.30)  no Just (2.30)

Most issues with taxes and invoices are solved ine 2.0.8e - do  test site in another folder and see the options there - play there.

did you get rid of the (+) plus sign?? they are not standard in VM2 only in VM1

Then leave the first variant field empty- see image

Unfortunately, I remember what you tell me about sign "+" I try your suggestion but nothing...
I check again "Tax & Calculation Rules" and I selected VAT for 10% that apply to product price
but the application on 50 gr. is right is 100 gr. wrong...So € 3,10 for 50 gr. is right, when I
select 100 gr. it would be € 5,80...Any idea?
I attach my screenshot if it'll be useful fot you to understand better my BIG problem!
Tks!

Ok Your price for the product for 50g is the price you have set

Then the variant first line can be blank -
then add 100g

3 lines why -

also I think you are using the wrong Variant - just use cart variant and see what happens

Unforunately custom field is right: cart variant, I tryed also to create a string type and price is the same (wrong)
Do you want site access to see better the problem?

To get close to 5.30 cents instead of 5.80 -

* the first 50g is 2.70 and the 100g is 2.70 added together you get 5.50 take off 10% you get 5.30

Sorry again John2400, perhaps I explain you in a clear mode:

50 gr. = € 3,10 (€ 2,81 + VAT 10%) this work fine

so what happen when I need to show another quantity?
I must define a right rule because I have to insert a lot of product like this
and I can't to do experiments each time...
It seems there's a block to the price

100 gr. = € 5,80 (€ 5,27 + VAT 10%)

I have a doubt could I apply the right "Tax and rules"? I attach it
To be more sure I attach also configuration price...
Tks

Sorry been at work all day - remember depends whereyou live -

* I have only one tax set - the one you can see-

The configuration settings of what (price) to show that is up to you. I have them all ticked just to show you options.

I have a Product 450 DKK and when the drop down menu is out VAT but when add to price its with VAT.

are you saying the first does not have the VAT added but the rest do? so when You do a drop down option.

@ it adds the price and the VAT

But the initial price does not have the VAT added?  If so then the initial price might need to be set , then the first variant needs a cost added.    In other words change the first variant- see if it then adds the VAT cost and variant.

So I've tried in the backend writing including VAT and without.
In Denmark pay with 25% VAT. So if I set the amount to 80 DKK backend writes also 80 DKK in frontend. But when I adder the 80 DKK to the orignal price it adder the 100 DKK as it should.
If I who write against 100 DKK backend writes the 125 DKK in the posted price.

So it is just the frontend to show the price with VAT and is not quite on how to do it.

I can creat a user for you if you now what to do.

Is this what you are after ?

http://www.moreeinfo.com/home/index.php/handtools/shovel-detail

just ignore the extra bits they are other tests I run.  just look at the initial price then add the money 50. 100 and see the Vat Correct.
