Did you try from the backend to go to Tools->Tools & Migration and click the option Install tables or if necessary update them

Sorry for hijacking the post. Got the same issue with "vmerror: exeSortSearchListQuery Column <SNIP>" after we updated a VM2 shopping-cart from 2.0.14 to 2.0.18a. Actually it also caused the products list to not display ,,-|
