VM2.0.7 D
This is a well known issue, mentioned again and again in this forum. It is restated here because so far I have not seen a definate answer anywhere else.
This issue is crucial for most of my clients and therefore is a deal breaker when it comes to VM2.
Let me elaborate.
In VM1.x you were able to go in a product and add multiple prices which you could then assign to different shopper groups. In VM2 there no such capability.
The reason this is needed is simple. My clients have several different prices per product, one for each shopper group. These prices are not somehow connected to each other or in any other way related. There is no way to derive one price from another nor are some prices ratios of others. I am being repetitive here because I have read workarounds in this forum, such as the override price workaround etc and I think I am very specific when I say that THIS WILL NOT DO.
The only way to satisfy my clients' needs is if I can somehow add multiple prices to products and then assign them to different shoppers, via shopper groups or some other method.
To be clear, I am not talking about just two different prices. In VM1 you could add as many prices as were necessary and assign them to as many shopper groups as were needed. The same functionality needs to exist in VM2.
The reason for this topic is that I would like a clear answer as to if and when the virtuemart team intends to implement this in VM2. I have read most relevant threads and as it seems there is a real need for this feature to exist.
Thank you for your time and patience.
Same here. Can't upgrade old stores.
This is definitely a very important feature that is missing from VM2. Most of e-shops have multiple prices for each product. Different price for different shopper group. These prices are very often not related to each other.(eg Price for wholesale may not be a fixed percent of the default price).
Moreover, what is the point of using the migration tool from vm1 to vm2 if you can not migrate the prices of the product?? Actually, if you can not assign different prices to different shopper groups per product then you can not migrate your site at all.
Furthermore, could somebody let me know what is the reason of the existence of the field "virtumart_shoppergroup_id" in the table "virtuemart_product_prices "?? How does this field work?
I tried to use override price but it does not work right when you add the product to the shopping cart.
It would be very important if someone from the development team could give us an answer on whether or not they will add a new plugin or something else with which we will be able to deal with prices as in vm1.
i totaly agree, the fact that multiple prices is remove is a BIG showstopper for Virtuemart. 3 of my clients are effected in NOT updating to VM2+
i hope it will be back.... ( sounds like swarsenegger as the terminator )
best regards,
John
Is it difficult to develop ? May we all need to donate to virtuemart team and they will develop it in near version?
The feature is "prepared".
That means we use an extra table for the prices, so we just need to combine that with the shoppergroups. Maybe 3 days of work.
WOW.
How can we help to include this developing in the near version release ?
Many people waiting for it.
May be we will pay for that developing to quicker the process ?
Critical feature. Can't update old sites.
Please help.

Milbo,
Thank you for taking the time to reply.
So the tables are there, the database schema has the potential to support the feature we want, its just a matter of writing the code. "Maybe 3 days of work". Does this mean we will have an update in three days, or that you will start working on it in the near future and when you start working on it, it will just take three days to be implemented? A time frame would really be helpful.
In any case, it seems that the feature will be implemented one way or another, which is good news.
Any solution for this?
This feature is really useful.
Hello to everybody.
We need to collect 500 Euro and Virtuemart team will agreed to insert this feature into Virtuemart 2 core.
Does somebody ready to donate?
If we are in 10 and everybody donate 50€ we do it.
I think we are more than 1000 and may donate 10
I suggest to virtuemart team to build something like
paypal thermometr to see progress
but didn't get answer

I would like someone from the VirtueMart team to validate this. Also, I would like to know what it means. Will this feature be added sooner if we donate or will it not be added at all if we don't?
No reaction. Does anyone know is this feature in redshop?
Im in ;)
I think the Virtuemart Team should develop this feature (multiple prices per shopper group) as soon as possible.
It is of vital importance for us and our customers. Virtuemart is a very good eshop and I wouldn't like the idea of "moving" to an other e-shop solution (though I may need to).
In addition we are ready to pay to develop such feature but have no answer from Virtuemart team how to ....
Any news?
is it ready?
Hello to all,
I'll tried to start project on http://www.kickstarter.com But I can't because not US resident.

Sadrem,
In your quote you mention that the feature will be available in the next VM release. Do you have any such information from members of the VirtueMart team?
Also, it doesnt show who you've quoted, although from what I can gather this is an altered quote of my original post in this topic.
I never suggested donation nor have any information that this feature will be available in the next VM release. If this quote was a mistake please let me know so as to not report it to the moderators of this forum.
Thanks.
Hello,
1)Yes . I have such information from members of the VirtueMart team
2) If we donate to vm team this feature will be available. It depends on VM team when it will be available.
3) You ask for such feature. I have just mentioned the way how to get it.
Hi all,
Any news? I've downloaded and updated to 2.0.10 but there is still no support for multiple prices per product per shopper group. Are there any plans on resolving this?
2.0.12 I am quite sure we will have it.
This feature is also really very important for us as we are using several Virtuemart 1.1.9 sites with consumer, wholesale and distributor prices. We are ready to convert to VM2.0 but we cannot due to this fact. In order to speed up and support your Virtuemart Team we donated today € 100,00
We hope that others will donate too with as result that the next release will have the possibility for different prices for different shopper groups.
Thanks in advance!
thank you very much, we have now around 400 euro for in the pot and I will start asap. Thank you, all ! I am not able todo it for the release this week. But I think we will do it within the next 2. Maybe it is the 2.1 then and it starts a bit simple.
Hello Milbo,
what would it take for you or your team to start right away and to publish the shopper group prices feature with the next release?
Thanks in advance for your prompt reply.
Best regards!
The next release is today. We start "right" away.
And we wanted to put it into this release, but it is still considered as feature and not as bug, so we fix the other things first. Also is important to know that some developers just add the features they need and they got payed for. So please dont wonder, that there are new features, but still no the multiple prices per shoppergroup. I have also the problem, that there are some not solved problems in my mind. Usually I start first to write something, if my vision is clear.
Hi, do you have any idea when this issue is going to be solved? I'm about to make two new shops and both my customers demand this feature, I would love to use VM2 but as it looks right now I can't. Is it going to be released in a couple of weeks, months or how's it looking?
Hello Milbo,
are the shopper group prices now added in 2.0.12 or?
Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for your reply.
I have been playing with 2.0.12 for a bit on localhost & have not seen the functionality yet. Perhaps I am missing something ???
I'm really hoping too :(
need a date
Please be patient. A first version meanwhile is in the SVN for testing, but quantity dependent prices are not yet implemented.
I`m being patient xD
I just got a project handed down however that requires this feature like many in the past where I`ve had to make workarounds. It would just be great if it`s ready for me to try and implement for the first time, exciting
Is this new multi price version ready? I sure am excited. Please be ready!
Dear Milbo, hero members and moderator, developers and other contributors to VM,
We are very disappointed, somewhere in June somebody shouted that if we would donate all together € 500,00 the specific shoppergroup prices would be added to VM2. Don't misunderstand, Not the ones by calculation rules.
We ourselves donated € 100,00 and until now we have seen nothing. Needless to say that we are not the only one who need this feature.
What does it take to finish this?
Thanks for an answer.
Kind regards, Angelo
@angelo
Multiprices are already on the SVN and been tested. In version 2.1 will be ready (i think will be released just before Christmas - a month from now).
Regards
Thanks for your reply.
We will wait impatiently ;)
Regards, Angelo
In fact we release it early in the 2.0.16.
The last problem is the js, to add new prices. That means multiple prices works with sql, but the gui is missing the "add a price" button.
Hi
I'm bulding a couple of websites requiring multiple prices per shopper groups, so I'm really impatient to test it.
In the meantime I have a small suggestion for a feature to add, related to this feature (not in the same code area, but logically related): split the minimum order quantity in a "per group" feature. This is an important feature when working with various groups having very different discount: generally, you would like to force people having greater discount to buy more, and setting a different minimum order amount works great. I made this modification in VM 1.1.x, and works great in many shops. I hope to see it soon in VM 2.x
And thanks for your great job
Regards
Hi all, when you think that this feature will be released? Thank you very much.
Hi all, so in the next

Regards
I'm sorry but I have a problem.
I was very pleased when released version 2.0.16 with multiprice.
But when I want to add an additional cost to the product click on the green plus button and add price.
in the second price of the product but I do not work selects. strange I can not choose a user group or other options. When to impose a kind of prize will not be saved. And also when I select the first group included also it saved.
Where is the problem?
Thank you
CTRL + F5 :) js not loaded
did not help. always the same.
I just found out that I have a problem with the addition of the first-price and if you do not kind. I even saved.
try to add additional price -> save -> check if You can change selects
OR send me pm with joomla user I can take a look
thanks it works
what was the problem ?
I do not know, I have followed your advice and it goes.
Hello,
I have a similar problem with multiple prices per shopper group not being saved.
I tried to eliminate as much possible causes as as could and set a reproductible environment :
- I did a clean install with Joomla! 2.5.9 (no sample data) and virtuemart 2.0.18a (with sample data).
- Just in case, the test site is empty and installed on a different server (different hosting provider) with PHP Version 5.3.10.
- The sample shop is unmodified : I just checked the "Enable shoppergroup specific price display" box and all below.
To add shoppergroup specific prices, I selected
all shopper groups and tried to use the "
Add new price" button and then the "
new price-clone" button.
Both buttons open a new product price 'sub-form', but the
Shopper group button is inactive ('please select' does not open dropdown).
Note : the select Shopper group button works in the old price sub-form.
Saving the product :
1- does not save the new prices
2- erases the currency of the original price (reverts to the 1st in alphabetical order : Afghan afghani)
Just to be sure, I tried an INSERT INTO in the _virtuemart_product_prices table : the prices are now correctly displayed in both the back-office and the front-end.
I tried with Firefox and Google Chrome, used CTRL+F5, emptied Joomla cache ... same bug.
Any ideas ?
http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=112802.0
Is there built-in possibility to apply another price when overall cost of order increase some value?
Hello,
Hitting the save button after each change does works ... but is not really user-friendly !
Quite time consuming and it adds an increased risk of mistakes.
For people who must deal with a large catalog (I have seen shops with more than 8.000 products ...) which has to be frequently updated, it's a nightmare.
Add some custom fields and two or three languages and it becomes totally impractical.
I'm testing a desktop application, Store Manager for VirtueMart, http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension-specific/virtuemart-extensions/virtuemart-administration/23060 (http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension-specific/virtuemart-extensions/virtuemart-administration/23060) that might solve the issue if they manage to add Multiple prices in their next release.
CSVI is the best solution out there for this, period.
Rgrds,
Chris
