How would I go about setting up a color drop down menu so that when I select a color for the product it changes the product image to match the selection?
I found a similar question at stack-overflow http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10124793/how-add-custom-field-with-product-image-upload-in-virtuemart and have been looking around these forums but haven't found a solution.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated,
Thank you
I wanna know i too. VirtueMart seems like a great software, but there's a lack of standard futures.
For Virtuemart 1.1.x we have attribute manager
http://breakdesigns.net/extensions/attribute-manager
We still thinking if it will have success with VM2. What do you think? Is anybody else who is interested?
Yes I'd definitely be interested. Anything would be better then nothing, I'm actually surprised this isn't a basic feature.
Would like this feature too!
I'm interested too.
I am also interested in the Attribute Manager for VM 2.x
i also think this is very useful to have built into virtuemart.
the only solution seem to create a product child , i don't see a other solution
Does using this add-on can be to effect that change color in the drop box, for example, green (main thumbnail) to pink (small thumbnail), changed main photo thumbnails Product Details View?

Hello and yes we would be very interested in knowing this.
Also the custom fields area seems very buggy.
I wondered how to make this work? :-\ any hacks at the moment or workaround?

Which is exactly the way to go. No need to feared. Show me your main product and give me 3 images. I do that in 5-10 minutes, depends on the speed of your server. If your images already in the media library I can do it under 5 minutes. a joke. Child products are not something strange. Just create your product. Go to the list, create a child. Add dynamic variant to the parent and done. Even there are no values in the child, everything is there, that is the trick. Then you just choose another image and thats it. You can also adjust the price.

Hi do you mind to elaborate this more about this?
I have child products and do I put the image in the child product instead of the main product? or I think this is the answer.. http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=99225.0
