[SVN] - Source Code & Build Files
(1/1)
Soeren:
Hello @all,
you can always stay up-to-date with the latest version of VirtueMart by downloading the sources from our SVN server. VirtueMart uses a SVN repository on the "VirtueMart Developer Central" Portal.
What you need to do to connect to the SVN server and download the sources is explained here:
Source Code Management (SVN)
After having checked out, you'll find a lot of files in your local directory. Building an installable file by hand from this source is complicated, because VirtueMart has a comlicated installation procedure (because of its size). But you can easily build your own installer by using the Batch Build Files, available for for Windows and Linux, which can be downloaded from the SVN directory build_scripts in the VirtueMart SVN repository.
Be sure to have installed 7Zip (which is one of the best Compressing Programs available) on your computer! Download it from here: http://www.7-zip.org/. It is needed for the packing and compressing procedures. It's also available for Linux.
The Batch Files /Shell Scripts need to be configured before you first use them! Be sure to change the variable settings in the header of the files.
Please be sure to always read the Changelog after having updated your files from the SVN Server.
Have fun....
Soeren
