I have a situation where users sometimes need to update their email address.  I needed to as administrator some time ago.  Since I use the VM registration as the default there are parallel entries for a single user.

The problem is that a user can go into account management, change the email address, place an order, and the order confirmation will still go to the old email address.  Returning to account managment seems to validate that the email has been changed but if I look into the user database I will see that email address has been updated for the joomla user table but not for the VM user table.  This does not seem right.

I am presently using VM1.1.8/J1.5.22.  I am also using the JFoobar plug in that allows users to login using their email address is addition to their username.  Any idea where t look to fix this?

Shux, yeah, I have the same exact issue. Didnt realize it till I had to change my own email, then when doing a test order, I noticed the email wasn't changed, however in the account maintenance billing section it showed as changed.

I am not using the plugin you mentioned above so I am assuming that is not related.

I have looked around, but this is the only instance of this issue I can find.

strangely, I just noticed,in my case, I cant seem to find a single instance of the old email within the database, both virtuemart, and joomla user emails have been updated in the database. Not sure where its getting it from, but it is definitely not changing when receiving purchase orders

I just found an instance of my old email in jos_vm_order_user_info, but from what I can tell, this is just the stored orders.

Also several mentions from an old smf forum which I have now removed, Come to thing of it, at one time I did have a sync component on my site to sync forum users with joomla system, I wonder if that has anything to do with it...

Sorry for all the post, just trying to add as much info as possible.

I think this may be a serious bug but since users do not frequently change their email, it may not be all that visible to site managers.  I am a little hazy on what I did the last time but my recollection was that the email was changed on one of the database tables and not the other.  I think I had to make the correction directly to the database to solve the problem.

I could try testing this but would sure appreciate some fedback from some of the code writer who would be in  a better position to know.
