Just wondering where this problem sits? I'm using VM 1.1.17a and still having CC errors.

This should be fixed in VM 1.1.8, please let us know if you encounter any issue so we can fix it in the next release.

I still have the same issue here with std VM 1.1.8 and J! 1.5.23.
I'm using San

The issue is exactly the same. As soon as you choose confirm order you get:

Is there some fix for this?
Btw, the options I set are the following:
Payment Type    sale   
Check for CVV?        no
Enable Express Checkout button?     no
Use Shipping Information?    yes   
Enable Direct Payment?     no
Only verified accounts accepted?    no
