CSS my friend. As some you may have taken note by now, I can't offer css help. It's too time consuming, and it only addresses your issue typically. There is a TON of info online about working with CSS and it's attributes. Anything you need to know or fix is there.

Hi, I have download v2.8 from your post and from extensions.virtuemark.net... but subfolder inside mod_vm_cat_menu_specific_v2.8.zip show an subfolder with sufix v2.7; metadata in mod_vm_cat_menu_specific.xml says the same.
Did I download the correct zip?

moyeen: It should be just fine. Make sure you identify your root category item id as well.

el_bot: Doesn't sound like it. See attachment below for v2.9

Forrest i think you make the most helpful module I've ever seen. Your work is excellent. My sincere congratulations!
I don't know if there is the best place to ask my question about the module but i give it a try and please correct me.

Here is my scenario:
I have a website with a menu of two items. The first menu item is "CATALOGUE" and the second is "SHOP". I have VM and Forrest's module installed of-course.
I created two instances of the module. The first one is visible only at the CATALOGUE page and the second one is only visible at the SHOP page.
In VM i have 4 categories. The first two categories are visible in CATALOGUE only and the other two are visible at SHOP page only.
As far as good.. And here comes the problem:
When i click at any category at the SHOP's page module, Joomla reloads the CATALOGUE page with its own menu (the first two categories).
Is there any way to isolate the module, in order to work independent based on what page somebody browses ? (CATALOGUE with its own products and categories, SHOP with its own products and categories)

Thank you very much Smiley

ok; I get 2.9.
Forrest: two things:
1)Why you use <div id="relative_div" style="position:relative;z-index:0"></div> in outCategoryList? You are violating HTML if the module is used 2 times in the same page.

2) Suggerence: number of products and number of subcategories styled apart from the title of link (someshing like " <a...>name product/category </a> <span class= "num-prod"> {12} </span> <span class = "num-cat"> {13} </span>

Perarg:
I think that you should look at param Store Override ID (product or categories... i don't know); that param affects the Itemid (?Itemid= id item) in the URLs generated; that's id affects what module are load.
That is, in the module that shows the cataloge put the Id of the item (link) CATALOGUE (when you follow this link the module will be append the correct ItemId in every link generated; then when you foolow some of these links, the itemId will be the same, and Joomla will be load the same modules).
The same for SHOP.
(Am I in the correct Forrest?)

I downloaded this mod, and like what I have seen from other users. Only thing is that I can't seem to figure out how I can get the categorie listed in the main menu of Joomla.
I created an VM menu called webshop. I would like to have the categories of VM listed under this webshop link. At the moment categorie list will get listed in a new section. How do I get this solved??

If you would like to have it visualized what I mean you can take a look at http://www.in-progress.nl/ama and the click on Webshop in the main menu on the left side.

At the moment I added VM to every categorie to get it listed correctly in the menu, and the menu 'Webshop' is inserted as an article.

In the attached image this is also visible.
In FIG. 1 I have the desired situation, but when I have VM added to the Webshop menu the result is like in FIG. 2 which is not the desired situation.

So how do I go about to get the situation as listed in FIG. 1 (either with or without the subcategories listed)without having to list every categorie as seperate VM categorie.

I use Joomla 1.5.22 and VM 1.1.7 and the latest version of you mod v2.8.

Wow!This is a great module!Thanks!
But I have a problem: when I create a category and subcategory, the category name is duplicated, as can be seen in the attached picture. Why is that?
How then do to change the color of the menu items'?
Many thanks to all!

Thanks el_bot! I figured out a solution. But now i came up with another issue.
In my website i have 2 VM menus (ex. Shop and Store). The first one shows the half categories and the second one shows the other half. The first menu (Shop) has id 228 and the second menu (Store) has id 234.
I created two instances of your module and assigned in Store ID Override - Categories the appropriate numbers (228 and 234). The modules work great, but if i click in any product i get ONLY the itemid of the first menu (228) even if i am at the 234 menu.
I gave as Store ID Override - Products the same numbers but with no luck...
Any idea ??

Ok I figured out how to move it to where I need it (sorry, didnt think it through....thats what happens when you work through nights). I have edited the css and can see how to move the menu but the position appears in different positions between IE8.0.76 and FF3.6.15.

left: 425px;
top: 320px;

I am assuming this is a problem with IE or the template I am using, is it resolveable ?

Hello Forrest,

Thank you your time and this product!
I'm having several issues in an attempt to get this module functioning so I can hopefully accomplish my task...
But, for now, I cannot seem to get the menu list to appear/display as the other menus with roll-overs etc...
I thought I applied the proper menu class, apparently not...

Any direction is appreciated,
Jim
