Hey Folks

I have just spent the evening exploring why my site is not working, and it appears as though the .htaccess file im using in conjunction with sh404SEF is causing the invalid token error

Anyone have any ideas why this could be? maybe its got something to do with https?

Should I add another line into .htaccess to allow for https?

any help on this would be much appreciated

thanks in advance

after further exploration I have found that sf404SEF was effecting the ability to log in to the front end of my site.

Also all the URLS I have used in my site after I installed sf404SEF where broken, plus you could not add items to the cart.

I switched sf404SEF off and reverted back to the standard joomla core URLs, this fixed the issue and now I can log into the front end, (important for returning customers)

Once I manually re wrote all the URLS in my articles to standard joomla URLS I re installed the new version of sf404SEF (after buying the lifetime subscription. lol)

Everything was working again, except the invalid token response when logging into the front end,

Heres the clincher, you actually got logged in, but the invalid token page came up, if you deleted the string after the URL and refreshed back to the home page you could see the you where now logged in,

The fix for this was to create a custome redirect in sf404SEF from

index.php?option=com_user&lang=en&task=login

to

index.php

Obviously this does not fix the bug, not sure whats going on there, but it enables the user to log in and avoid seeing that nasty page,

anyone have any ideas about why the invalid token page comes up?

I have similar problem but it is not related to sf404SEF since I do not use that program.  I tried to log into my own site to test a new shipping module and to try and place an order.  I entered the usernameand pasword and hit submite and I get the error page with the "Invalid Token" message.  I then click the browser "back" buttom and I see that I have been logged in.

I encountered the same problem a few minutes later when I tried to log into the Joomla extensions site to leave a review. It may be a Joomla related problem but I seem to get much beeterresponse form this forum than I ever did from the Jooomla one.

Since I do not use SEF is there a solution that would work for me?  Any help would be much appreciated.

This can be related to the failure to use www. for some of the site urls - I always use .htaccess on the server to force all urls to include www. and have had no invalid token issues since starting to do that.

I am not sure how that would occur since I always use the www prefix. In any case how would I modify .htaccess to implement the fix you are talking about?

I force non-www through .htaccess and I still have the Invalid Token problem.
