I am trying to add downloadable products and I want to give customers the ability to choose their required format of the product.

I'm able to add the parent product, no problem.

I don't see where or how to add children products, since I'm assuming that's what I have to do in order to allow the format choices, correct?

I added attributes to the parent product and it just stays on the screen where I add them.  I can add all 4 formats and see them when I look at the product in my live site, but there is no way to choose the format and add it to the cart.

I've looked in all of the help options here and in documentation I can find and I can't seem to figure it out.

Any suggestions?

Also, where do you add the path to where the product for downloading is located?

Can you please let me know how exactly did you solve this problem because although you both solved it, you don't say how!!
I cannot see any link "Add New Item" to my administrator control panel.

Sachin, i figured it out!
Well, in order to display the option "New Item" you should add an attribute to your product! So, firstly, you go to "Add Atribute", insert an attribute and then, when you will go to your product again, you will see the option "New Item".
And this is where you insert your child product!
