I tried all the above but nothing worked, then found it was the template I was using and the order of the java script. Take all jscript usually from the top and place it at the end of the template before: </body>

Please try the attach fix for Internet Explorer (IE7) Operation Aborted issue.

First Unzip than replace the files
Root/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/toolbar.html.php
Root/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/htmlTools.class.php
Root/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/menuBar.class.php
Root/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/ps_config.php
Root/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/html/product.product_form.php

Root/components/com_virtuemart/js/wz_tooltip.js
Root/components/com_virtuemart/js/slimbox/css/slimbox.css
Root/components/com_virtuemart/js/slimbox/js/slimbox.js

Make sure you clear browser cache.

Search tags, Internet Explorer, IE7, ie7, Operation Aborted

Fix worked exactly as documented for me.
Joomla 1.5.12 and VM 1.1.3.
Had "operation aborted" before and not after.

Hi all!

I have tried all suggestions now.

I have uploaded the fix, didn´t work!
Also tried to ad the suggested lines in the script.
That worked, but it totally messed up the website in other areas.

I use Joomla 1.5.7 ( Rockettheme version )
VM 1.1.3
don´t know what more info is needed.

Is it possible to "isolate" the script to Virtuemart?
So that the other features continue to work?

Two things worked for me...

1) changed settings in Virtuemart Administration panel: Admin/Configuration/Site Tab/Layout/"Select Theme For Your Site"/Click Configuration Link/Untick "show images in a lightbox" box.

> this worked for me for the frontend. Didn't try backend for IE cos I use FF for development.

2) The files on the first post worked for me as well (without doing the 'untick' above).

I have just uploaded the files from aravot to fix a problem that prevented me from updating products using IE 7 after upgrading VM to version 1.1.3

Joomla version is 1.5.14

The error message was Operation Aborted with the URL appended. There were no problems using Firefox or Safari (Mac).

The patch worked perfectly.

Thanks for all your hard work.

I used this fix and now VirtueMart works on the back-end in IE7 but it still comes up with the operation aborted in the front end when I try to view the books.

Do you have any suggestions to fix this issue? I URGENTLY need it to work fully in IE7.

//EDIT: You can see the website here: http://www.test9.ausalive.com/shop. Please PM me if you would like admin access to investigate the issue further.

Thanks.

I changed the following settings in your Vm_categories module that was published in the right column.

It was the JSCook setting that was causing the problems, please change it to your liking, but avoid JSCook.

I wish that the team would fix this issue once and for all, 75 percent of people use IE7.

Try posting a link to your website in your profile, or a link to the error page if possible.

A picture is worth a thousand words. For XP get http://www.bhelpuri.net/Snippy/SnippyDownload.htm, or...

Windows Vista has a Snipping Tool in the Accessories area of the Start Button.

Have you read the manual? http://virtuemart.net/documentation/User_Manual/index.html I did, huh?

Hello
To fix the IE crash with JSCOOK menu tray this solution :
* In the file /modules/mod_virtuemart/vm_JSCook.php find the following code somewhere around line 144.

Quote
$menu_htmlcode .= "cmDraw ('div_$varname', $varname, '$menu_orientation', cm$jscookMenu_style, '$jscookMenu_style');";

Replace with :
Quote
$menu_htmlcode .= "window.onload = function(){cmDraw ('div_$varname', $varname, '$menu_orientation', cm$jscookMenu_style, '$jscookMenu_style');}";

I hope that it will help you and thank you Michael

Best regards
