Open Source Paypal Pro Module with Express Checkout
jaysunp:
Hey Cowboy.
Can you clarify for me which part of the PayPal cert is inserted in the API signature field? Is it the entire text of the document that PayPal generates, or just part of it?
It contains two keys; RSA Private Key, and Certificate. In the Joomla 1.0.x version there is a place to enter the cert location. Not in the 1.5 version.
Thanks for the clarification.
Jason

Ouch, I feel sheepish.
I would like to explain that at the time I coded this, I was just starting a new job that was salaried. I was way too swamped, sometimes sleeping at the office, to support this project. I was hoping on, and I appreciate, community support to help those who couldn't get it working. I was really hoping on being able to work on more of the VM project than just this payment processor, but I wasn't in a position to do that either.
I have returned to freelance work recently because of the crazy work schedule. It was a small company where I was the main developer, and I had no help really. So I returned to my roots as an independent developer, and I was looking over this project and what had become of it, and I really apologize that I didn't leave better instructions for you guys and was out of pocket at the time.
Most of the problems I received emails about were due not to the code, but to people not understanding that this is for Paypal Website Payments Pro and that you need an active account for it to work. I tried to help those that I could, but I did not have the time or energy to answer everything that came in. I would like to revisit this project and make it as solid as possible now that I have free time again - so if I can get your suggestions, I will do what I can to both move this to the Joomla 1.5 platform and polish up the code that has been released for 1.0.
Again, I apologize for not being available for support.

Hey Scott,
Good to hear from you. No need to apologize from my point of view. You have to take care of yourself first, before you can be of assistance to others.
I am happy to help test your module and am glad that you will have some time to give it attention and flesh out the instructions a bit.
Thanks,
Jason
Scott Carroll:
Jason,
Thanks for understanding, I am working to get a package together from what was at micropledge, and what is on my PC. I will try to release this soon as a VM Paypal Pro Module for Joomla 1.0 Beta and then work to make it solid.
Then I will see what needs to be done to bring it into VM with Joomla 1.5 and finally finish it up. I may need some help with this part, as I have only two sites running 1.5 at the moment and I am not familiar with all of the changes between the different VM and Joomla versions yet. That was a lot of what held me up when I was originally writing this.

I have one question. To upload this module to Virtuemart can I upload just like the other Jooomla modules from the install section in the admin panel?
