How do I turn off the product images globally?  I do not have ANY images and have no need of the image on the list pages.

I have searched all the configuration pages and cannot find.  also spent time searching this forum and didn't find any postings.

I am in need of the exact same information. I have no need to display product images and no matter what i do, I either get an error or broken links from not uploading and image or no product image. There has to be a way to turn this feature off.

Edit whichever browse and product flypages you are using: components/com_virtuemart/html/templates/browse and components/com_virtuemart/html/templates/product_details

Just remove the lines that display images (look for {product_image}, {more_images}, {product_thumb_image}, etc).

Great to find this thread, but we are unable to find any files that match this path.

We are using VirtueMart 1.0.7 and for reasons I can't get into here, are unable to upgrade for at least 90  days.

We wish to stop stop all of the image calls, because on the product pages it creates a huge space for this file - /components/com_virtuemart/shop_image/ps_image/noimage.gif

If you did a bare installation, try editing the following file:

components/com_virtuemart/themes/default/templates/product_details/flypage.tpl.php

You need a little php & html know-how, but not much.
