When using Paypal as a payment method, when it returns me to a Thank You page, but in the Source Code it says it is "checkout.result"

Using vmga14 - It doesnt matter too much as I just changed the Goal URL to checkout.result rather that checkout.thankyou , but I just thought I would point it out.

I too am wondering if anyone has tried this with VM 1.1 and Joomla 1.5.  I know it will not work natively at this time but was wondering if there are any plans to modify it for Joomla 1.5 native?

Thank you for the module also.

All the best

First of all great module, works fine with VM!!
There is one small question, when I check the source of the homepage or some other page (not related to VM) I see the following code:
<script src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" type="text/javascript"></script><script type="text/javascript">_uacct = "UA-XXXXXXX-1";urchinTracker("");</script></body>

Is it correct that this page will not be seen/monitored by Google Analytics?
Or do I have to change some settings?

I have been living without GA converion tracking since I updated to VM 1.1 and would sure like to get it back.  I no longer have the services of the guy who helped build a custom hack for me some 2-1/2 years ago and documneted in a different thread.  I would love to get your verion installed if it will work for VM 1.1.  Can this be done and iof so foes anyone have a simple set of instructions to help get it working?

Hi

I believe in this case just the url will be reported, it's just standard GA code.

That's actually kind of a problem, that all vm pages are forced to be recorded as file names, as now I cannot see what products or categories were browsed, it's just shows like this:

/shop.browse   5,663    2,473    00:00:18    15.09%    4.80%    £0.00
/shop.product_details   1,867  1,559     00:00:27     35.71%     6.00%     £0.00

Can this be amended so only the cart and checkout steps are reported like that, and all other vm pages, like products or categories are reported as normal urls?

I also have problems with Paypal transactions not being reported at all, on a website where I implemented this module and where a few orders are placed every day (paid with Paypal) it reported only my test transaction paid with Cheque/Postal order. (Joomla and VM both 1.0.14.)

I was using the new code, now changed to legacy and implemented the corrections suggested by Chaz on a previous page. Also all goal and funnel urls are the full urls, and the funnels actually work fine.

Just uploaded the files, will report later on how it worked.

With regards to some transactions being empty (no products recorded) I've notived it's the parent products that are reported without problems, while the child products do not get recorded as products, just the transaction and the value. Can this be corrected, if my observation is correct?

But anyway great module, once you get it to work, thanks Alejandro.

All the best

J.

I though thr readers of this thread would be interested to know that this module does work on VM 1.1.  I removed all of the other GA scripts that I had installed an instlled this module and it is working great.  The goal funnel does not seem to be working so I wonder if the checkout steps are generating different pages?  Can anyone comment on this or are all of you still on the old VM?

Hi!

Great Module! Made my life so much easier. Just one small thing, I'm using Joomla 1.5 + Virtuemart 1.1; For some reason the variable "checkout_this_step" is an Array, hence my steps through the shopping output 'pageTracker._trackPageview("checkout.indexArray");' and I'm suspecting it used to be a scalar and should've resulted in "index1" "index2" and so on. So this is my hack for now:

Replace
Code:
$urchinString .= mosgetparam( $_REQUEST, 'checkout_this_step', 1);
with
Code:
                 if ($_REQUEST['checkout_last_step']) {
                     $urchinString .= mosgetparam( $_REQUEST, 'checkout_last_step', 1) + 1;
                 } else {
                     $urchinString .= 1;
                 }

I recently found that I have a problem with the warning message of "some elements on the page are not secure, would you like to view them?"  In another thread someone diagnosed a fix in the "virtuemart.cfg.php" file but I am still receiving the message.  On the old GA solution my programmer developed we found the problem was related to the javascript file from Google.  We solved this by loading the javascript file onto our secure server.  Maybe this could be done for this module too?

This is a great mod!  I tried installing the other publ;ished at Joomla and this was the only one that worked.

if you URL is an HTTPS one it should pick the google secure version, not the regular one. Is your url secure?

Yes, the checkout portion of my site is under HTTPS.  Perhaps the source of the error message is elsewhere.  I just know that this was an issue with GA on soume of the earlier solutions developed.
