Hello everyone, I've tried installing phpshop with both auto and man install. I followed the tutorial on this site for the manual install and all seems to install correctly except the componemt is not showing in the admin list. I have to manually install the com's url to get to the config page for php shop. I've obviously missed something simple, but I've gone over it step by step a dozen times and can't see what I've missed. Any ideas?
It's the current stable mos and phpshop.
Thx in advance.

OK, don't know why, but the shop didnot get added to the menu. I've gone in and manually addes it to the components table in the menu. It could've been phpmyadmin giving me a hard time, sometimes I need to run the script 2 or 3 time to get it to insert into the db.

@gippsweb:

Hi - I'm having a similar problem (I think)...
Could you please describe how you managed to do a manual install - cause after looking through a lot of posts on this issue I'm still stuck..

I have tried to install from the package file on my local harddrive, from a directory on the webserver, I tried to do a manual install following several tips on this forum - but still nothing seems to work.

Plz

I had to add the phphop componemt to the database as the script only seems to add the phpshop components. I gather that it should be added by mambo automagically, but this didn't seem to happen for me. I had to open the db in phpmyadmin and insert a row to the components table. I just followed the format of the other coms in the table. It goes something like 31,PHPSHOP,,1,left,0,0000-00-00 00:00:00, 0,mod_phpshop,0,0,1,,0,0 .. But this could vary depending on a few variables. I'm guessing it's got something to do with my host having safe mode turned on, but that is only a guess.

Cudos my friend...
I'm now past the installation problems and have begun configuring my shop - man there are a lot of switches that can be set  Tongue

Thx a zillion - aah - just one thing - I got this errormessage:

Quote
Warning: rename(): SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid/gid is 110404/110404 is not allowed to access /hsphere/local/home/kristian/22nd.dk/mambo/administrator/components/com_phpshop owned by uid/gid 398/398 in /hsphere/local/home/kristian/22nd.dk/mambo/administrator/components/com_phpshop/install.php on line 1239

Will I have to rename anything manually?

Anyway - thx - you just earned yourself a Karma-point  Wink

I don't think so, but I didn't strike anything like that. If you've done a full manual install, get rid of the install files off the server as they may be all that is causing the problem.

Cheers

Rename
phpshop.cfg-dist.php => phpshop.cfg

Delete install.php

That should do it...
