Mambo and Viruemart?
Elkaholic:
Is this going to be the component for Mambo? Or is VM going strictly with Joomla? I ask because with both going separate directions is VM going to continue to develop for Mambo or just Joomla? Right now I have installed VM with Mambo 4.62 and it works, but I have not fully tested it. I can see a few minor problems, but so far all easy fixes.
If the developers do not want to, or have time to take it on, would they be opposed to an offshoot of a Mambo version? If so are there any developers willing to take on the project?
Just though I would ask, I currently have setup multiple sites with either Joomla, or Mambo and VM, to be honest I see them both equal right now and have no idea who will eventually put out the best CMS.

As I plan for future development what will my best choice be?
Thanks for the thoughts on this.

I have the same reservations about using virtuemart. And have been following this post but none of the developers seem to be in a mood to reply
Elkaholic:
Look I just found out that Joomla is cracking down on licencing and soon will force VM to comply or stop distributing it. They stopped SMF from allowing development of a bridge for Joomla. They are getting greedy and ridiculous in the licencing policies.
As a matter of fact, VM is running SMF illegally according to the new policies, and joomla also runs SMF forums, go figure. I suggest we abandon Joomla all together and go with mambo, please I am begging you, Joomla is in it for one reason only, MONEY! Change the development to primarily Mambo!
Daz:
Yes you are right about joomla SMF
i have moved over to Mambo for one of my installs where SMF is bridged...
I do have a question.. has anybody got Mambo bridged with SMF working with VM?
i am up for helping test any betas, but my coding is very limited
AIPman1:
I do. www.dimestoreproductions.com
I have a large number of components working on Mambo after switching from Joomla.
I am worried about Virtuemart and scared to update to latest - I'm running .12 Don't want to mess up a working store.
Keeping my eyes open and ears out on Mambo development...I'm done with Joomla.
