okay - i have many sites working now - but this really did happen to me when i was starting out - and i answer at least one post a week on this forum for folks saying "i have just installed and something is broken"...

the first thing to try is to download and install Joomla eCommerce edition from this website. it is the latest Joomla with the latest Virteumart pre-installed. it fixed my first problem when i started out. it has fixed may peoples very early problems.
