Hi,

I am about to use Virtuemart for an e-commerce site. Part of the business is retail, and the other part is going to be wholesale. For the wholesale part, the price information won't be shown. I know I can disable showing price by setting Virtuemart as catalog, but I would like to keep the retail part to show prices.

Can I just set some certian categories as catalog? how do I do this?

There is no such option in VM. There are of course several other ways to solve this outside of VM.

Make Joomla articles and insert products with snapshot plugin.
Create a subdomain with separate install.
Use some other component to just show products.
and so on, sky's the limit, use your imagination.

hmm bad luck... anyway thanks for answers scar. Im really surprised that this option is not implementerd in VM. I think its very easy task to add this feature - it needs just add option "not for sale" in product options in backend and if this option will be applied, than product will not have "add to cart" button and message "NOT FOR SALE" insted in frontend. Maybe it can be implemented in some fiuture version of VM. I think there of course will be more people who needs this option. Fo example for artists (like me) who wanna sell their own artwor like paints etc..... not all product are for sale - some are like showcase, some are for sale...

That's nice, just go ahead and add that function. Contribute. This is how things get better, not by telling others how easy it is but by actually doing it.

Well If I will be a programmer I will contribute for sure but Im not, so for me even an easy task is hard.. :-) Becaue im not programmer I cant judge too much what is easy task and what not but in this cause I think its really nothing hard ...
