The best method to install complementary fields with products ?

above all, thanks for the work. Virtuemart is a success, and will be used by a group of french bookshops.

And now, the question  :) :

we need to extand the possibilites of fiels associated with products. It's necessary to indicate author, publisher, isbn, and others informations.

What is the best way, according to you, to proceed ? If we add new fields in the script, directly, I'm afraid for the futur compliance with next vesions of Virtuevart.

Someone as an idea ?

How about adding these items to object description when you add/edit a product in VirtueMart?

For ISBN or collection, that's ok, we can do that. But I think, for efficenly, that the author must be a field... The same thing for publisher...

hi! i don't know if there is a ready made solution for this, but i think it's mainly adding extra fields to the jos_vm_products table, making them editable in admin and making them accessible in the products page and on search :). I know... not very helpfull so far, but i have to do something similar soon. so to be continued...
