I am getting this:

Warning: fsockopen(): no SSL support in this build in /home/myannuit/public_html/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/payment/ps_authorize.php on line 426

Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to secure.authorize.net:443 in /home/myannuit/public_html/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/payment/ps_authorize.php on line 426

Error: Possible server error! - Permission denied (13)

Error: Failure in Processing the Payment (ps_authorize)

Trying to ue authorize.net.....

2) Also, it seems that when I added this compomnent and modules, it totally locked me out of making any CHMOD changes. I had to use putty and login as root user. Why is that? The classes foled was unable to be changed at all. Why did ownership change? Does this have anything to do with above or is it someilar to the UPS problem Ii have read in other posts that discuss cURL and ssl?

3) Which WYSIWY is this you use for this site. I like it, would love to use fckeditor if it had flash for use in mambo. anyone have any thoughts on that?
