My site is all set up and configured and Im ready to open the doors to the public.

but before I do, how do I go about making my site secure?

any help would be great

Define "go about making my site secure".  Are you talking about having a proper shopping cart that uses SSL and certificates?  Or are you talking about slowing down hackers?  Or both Wink

I dont know anything about protx, but I dont see it in my list of payment methods.  Regarding setting up your SSL, that depends on your hosting, web server software, etc.  You'll need to provide more details.  Also SSL config is largely outside of virtuemart config.  I suggest googling 'ssl apache' or 'ssl iis' depending on your particular needs.
