I am interested in your solution.  If this is not a component, can you tell us how this works, what it does specifically, and if it would work with other Joomla components, etc?  I don't know much about .htaccess programming.  Does your system replace the .htaccess file, or is it dynamic coding within .htaccess?  What are you doing to make this work?

I'm gonna think about using a component finally, even if it's not necessary, this could make easier the installation process

This seems like a very interesting option for SEF. Right now, the best option is 404SEF, as far as I am concerned, but 404SEF is not very stable and certainly doesn't work with Virtuemart. I eagerly look forward to the generation of a component. Nevertheless, I am still interested.

Because I probe 404SEF and OpenSEF and doesn´t work. IIS doesn´t have the apache mod_rewrite.

So dear comunity, if u want to have SEF/SEO for virtuemart it is very simple with OpenSef.

Hmmmmmmmmm!!! Very promising. I left Xeneon Extensions for 404SEF a while back when I began to build more Mambo PHP-Shop / Virtuemart sites. At that time, 404SEF was the only answer to SEF, and from my experience, SEF does make a major impact with the search engines, but 404SEF has its quarks, such as its changing URLs that mysteriously add a numeral onto the URL, resulting in frequent 404 errors to those landing on the page from the cached search engines. It can become a mess.

I am very glad to see, read and soon implement what has now become Open SEF, since there are some dedicated individuals with bright minds behind the project. Thanks for the link. It's been a while since I've checked out the site.
