OK I am here to let everyone know that I am posting this file on my website. I have not had a chance to fully test the file so I am releasing it in beta. It was tested on phpshop 1.25 so if it doesnt work with a different version then I might need to work with someone to update it.

Since everyone offered to donate for this I would like everyone who can to donate to my paypal account at pkruger@speeduneed.com

Let keep virtuemart moving. Anyone know how I can integrate "individual shipping per product"
I have a gift company that need to send each basket to a different location. If you know how to do this please let me know.

Thanks everyone!!!

As requested I have been working on a sef advanced fix for virtuemart. And today I finnally finished it.
I was not able to get it to work as you might expect. The urls are not
http://domain.com/category/product.html
for products:
http://domain.com/virtuemart/product.html
for categories:
http://domain.com/virtuemart/category.html

So you cant have categories with the same name as products.
Other than that I think I have 99% of links working. Where in the other version of mambophpshop I only had 90%.
I still need to test the product attribute jump menu.

I should have it ready by tonight.
Again this is sef_ext.php for virtuemart.

Hello,

I have your sef_ext working with phpshop on my site located at www.paulwitteveen.nl/. I will test it later to see if the order process goes fine but till now everything looks okay...

Onlything that might go if you ask me is the "phpshop" in the url. Or can one set this in a setting of phpshop?

I volunteer too.

Thanks
I already have a request. Have the sef_ext advance "replace url" feature ( ie : é=>ee, à=>aa)  enable for your extension.
In order to maintain product with accents in their names.

Thanks

Hi all,

Has anyone install this plugin and actually using with the virtuemart and having the checkout run smoothly.  I have not seen a post anywhere thats says they have friendly URL's and a smooth chekcout process.

If so I'd love to hear about it?Huh

Hello,

I coded "beta" version of sef-ext.pph for Virtuemart.
It is limited to converting categories and products names only. All the rest is untouched.
It works for me on:
www.montyjawa.cz/

Pls, test my site (it still in construction) and let me know if any problem.
If you can test on your site, it would be nice.

IMPORTANT: Joomla+VM+OpenSef must be working fine before you implement sef_exp for VM !!

Vlastik

I have recoded sef_ext much, new version on
Seo for Virtuemart

* sef_ext.zip (2.17 KB - downloaded 260 times.)

Hello Vlastik,

I tested your site really quickly yesterday and today. Yesterday everything seemed ok but today you have erros like this
Quote
componentobchodkola-a-rafky4URL-2: kola-a-rafkyURL-1:
.

I also tried it quickly on a site and it does work with a few minor issues that might not have anything to do with your code. Let me check it more closely ( haven't really played with openSEF yet ).

It's an excellent start, I will try to come back with more details and take more time to check it.

Joomla is open source so its extensions.

So dear comunity, if u want to have SEF/SEO for virtuemart it is very simple with OpenSef.

More details here: http://www.open-sef.org/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,164/topic,1167.0

without specific optimization of the htacces file you loose the google PR
and moreover open sef use to much sql ressource for me... My virtumart shop makes a lot of visits...and sql ressource is too strong
opensef is for all the component...so there is no optimization
so you can use it as you have a new website (without page in google or either else index), and if you don't have to much visits...
or if you have your own server you can't loose your power for slow urlrewriting has on opensef

Please supply a test copy so we may test your assertions.
Not sure what you are doing, or how, but looking at sections, categories, titles, etc. involves queries.

Please post specific data with specific examples regarding exactly what you are saying.
Please provide some proof that your solution is somehow significantly better as you claim.
Until then you are just blowing smoke.

I am sure all Virtuemart users will appreciate some real data.
As I mentioned in the OpenSEF Virtuemart forum - we would be happy to work with anyone willing to test both solutions and provide a real comparison.

Thank you for your consideration and attention to these issues which I am sure the many Virtuemart users would like to see answered clearly.

Also, please let me know what an htaccess file has to do with Google PageRank.  Huh
Must admit you have me baffled on that one. Thanks.
